We all need someone to lean on, and if it feels this good getting Carloed, then baby, use me until you use me up, Carlo. Yes, indeedy, on this night, in Carlo and Missy's eclectic interior decorated home, the diverse crowd of family, friends and extended family gathered to celebrate Carlo turns that blushingly beautiful age of 60.
No Smores could they deny him of that 6th decade of exponentially collected experiences of that symbolic consciousness river that flowed thru not only the home itself, but through the vibrating patterns of Carlo's mind.
As the crowd moved in constant melodic rhythms of the immigrant based food displays, the chatter began to muster among the crowd to move into the cake room to sing a rousing chorus of
Happy Birthday, Dear Carlo, Happy 60th Birthday to You.
Then it became time to cut the two exact opposite cakes, one being the legendary Double Chocolate, the other a fresh and fruity White Album cake, adorned with those wonderful 60th birthday candles.
As the crowd began to thin, Joyce, Daria and Steven weaved there way outside to the cloudless sky, and the spattering of the million star cosmos, while they remembered old shopping trips and old style candies, and the Thrifty squared scoops of Ice Cream.
Brooklyn found her way outside covered with the "Birth Blanket" Joyce had made for her, and as people raved, Joyce gave them a quick lesson on how to make one for their own special people, and there was a chorus of "I can do that", and "Yes, you can", that filled the light cool air of the special Carlos is 60 evening.
As Joyce, Daria, and Steven had filled their stomachs and their minds with joy, they all headed back over to Daria's house, where Steven realized that he and Joyce would be heading home in separate vehicles in the Dark of Night. This being your Wandering, Supposition filled and elusive, rebellious, and contemplative Child, scribbling on the ethernet to the tune of Happy Trails, and That's the Way it was on October 7th, 2011, That's All She Wrote, and lastly, That's the Way the Ball Bounces, Carlo.
