Ray and Hank share some Quality Time Together

Hey Boys and Girls, there is history and culture all around us, and here, on the fourth of July, we were to become enshrouded in those bylines, as lunch was going to
be served up, along with some quality time, as Hank shared his family food with our friend, Ray Widdifield. This being Monday the 4th of July, 2011, Joyce and I scurried
over to Ray's home in Santa Rosa, and whisked our ways over to Hank's Creekside Restaurant.
Never having been there, without a small wait
time, I personally was amused by the Stones song blaring in my ears...TTTTIIIIMMMMEEEE is on our side, as just the cleaning of the best seat in the house, on the South Side
of the tracks, became available post haste. For lunch Joyce and Ray partook of the incredible Reuben, though Joyce favored the homemade Chili and Ray sparkled with    the Potato Salad. I followed
with the Joe's Special Scramble, trying as best I could to keep the Svelte look going.
For those who have no inkling of where this fine establishment is located, it preens or prides itself where the
Flamingo hotel resides, where 4th St. (Highway 12) and Farmers Lane come colliding to a halt, what is commonly referred to as an intersection. I illuminated
Ray while we succumbed to our palates about when Hank's was a bar, and Joyce's Dad, Harry used to shoot things out the window for Shots of alcohol. Ray was very suprised at this, seeing as he couldn't remember Hank's ever being a Bar, considering Ray is a living part and parcel of Santa Rosa, himself. Also during our meal, we were to be privy to the information that Hank himself, was out playing Hooky on the Golf Course, and many new faces bombarded my memory banks.
Like many of our car adventures, I am always along for the ride, as long as I have the time to change my shoes.  No shirt, no shoes, no service, as they say.
As we came to the conclusion of our meals, we all decided a trip over to the Odd Fellows Cemetary, to check out the flag displays would be an excellent way to culminate
our roadside attractions. Along the way we caught a quick glimpse of a large cactus adorned with a number of Sombreros. We were also suprised at the lack of Flags
posted on either the Head Stones or the Grave Markers, though we all thought better of getting some more time in chastising those involved with such responsibility to these matters.
As we pulled back into the circular driveway of Ray and
Gladys Widdifield's home, I had to take a few pot shots of the incredible Palm Trees, that remind me so dearly of Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, where everyone remembers that Jed Clampett used to reside, back in the 60's.  This is Steven, so glad to share some personal time on Santa Rosan history and culture, biding my time with one of two of the Areas living landmarks, Ray Widdifield, Child
