Into the Mystic

If one imagines that if a business is to survive it must make a product, sell enough of that product to keep itself in operating condition, or otherwise lose it's reality, and no longer exist.  Now take the mythical beast we so eagerly call government, and the same perimeters of the sphere it represents.  It has no such limitations attached to it's capacity to infiltrate into the public's awareness.
Though the use of public funds, which we call taxes, is it's mainstay or collateral for solvency, it seems the web of it's reaches into our lifestyles, that it does not have to make a product, or money, to sustain itself.  Furthermore, it can invent ways to collect more collateral or even worse, just make excuses to print more money and inject it into whatever you call this system.
Just for my mystical whimsy I suggest that government workers or politicians accept the going civilian wages, and be responsible for their own pension plans, like the rest of us in civilian life do.  For the privilege of being an American, like military service used to be, and is, in a lot of countries throughout the world, we all should have a chance to serve in a political forum,if we so choose, to donate our diverse ideologies for the benefit of our communities, and then return to civilian life and get on to participating in the real world. In other words, first, set term limits, one or two at the most, and then, if so inclined, create a part of government that can actually produce a product, and help sustain the viability of the Mythical Existence of what we call for lack of a better literary theme, the Political Landscape.
